Devonport Dental School
Eight Figures
Lucy Casson is an artist who lives and works in London and has been making sculpture since the early 1980s. The eight figures that you see here capture the qualities of both animals and people and were created especially for the Dental School. The columns and structure of the building are the perfect place for them to explore, and enjoy the sunlight.
Lucy has exhibited her sculptures in the UK and internationally and has been commissioned to make other site specific art works; including sculptures for Moorefield’s Eye Hospital, London and Aberdeen Children’s Hospital in Scotland. She has produced sculptures in the landscape for Sustrans Cycle Way in Oxfordshire and seating and sculpture for a coastal trail for Island 2000 on the Isle of Wight. In addition Lucy has created theatrical and kinetic installations, including La Menagerie Mecanique in Marseilles France.
