Derriford Hospital Colour Scheme
It is widely recognised that colour should be taken very seriously in a healthcare setting, indeed it is suggested that colour can have a profound effect on how we feel both mentally and physically and when choosing hospital colours we should consider diagnosis of patients, easing of fear and stress, and whether the colour would help staff do their job.
We have produced a ‘palette' of colours for the whole building working with a colour specialist choosing a range which are proven within healthcare settings.
As part of up-grading the hospital, a programme of re-painting is being implemented for all of the circulation areas on levels 2-12.
We are using the ‘palette' to provide visual interest and assistance with ‘way finding' around the building.
Below are approximate representations of the colours for each of the levels 2 - 12.
