Zest is responding to the challenge of creating a garden courtyard for the new South West Cardiothoracic Centre. The area will have a combination of hard and soft landscaping with one part providing a sheltered private space for critically ill patients. Part of the entrance to the Centre forms a natural amphitheatre which can be used for performances during clement weather.
The view of the courtyard and the performance space will provide a welcome oasis for all, helping to reduce stress and speed recovery improving both the patient experience and staff working lives.
