Live Music Now! was founded in 1977 by Sir Yehudi Menhuin and his friend Sir Ian Stoutzker to fulfil Sir Yehudi's dream "to bring live music back into everyday lives of people of all ages....Not only in the home, but also in those places where most of us spend our time, where we work, study, suffer or celebrate, be it in office, factory, school, prison, parish hall or church".
Derriford Hospital has been delighted to host a series of concerts by these talented young musicians. The first programme of concerts took place in mid 2007 and was much enjoyed by patients and staff particularly in the outpatient waiting area and on the children’s ward. The music provided entertainment distraction and diversion for patients, staff and all other hospital users.
