Plymouth Child Development Centre is a multidisciplinary Specialist Child Development Centre that offers help to children with developmental disorders that may result in physical, sensory, communication, emotional or learning difficulties.
As part of the continuing works to improve the facilities at the centre Zest has led the the design of a sensory garden working with children, young people and their families, staff at the centre, local artists, and volunteers from the British Trust for Conservation.
The garden provides access to the fresh air and stimulation for all the senses there will be areas that offer stimulation in the form creative play and outdoor games facilities together with areas for quiet relaxation.
Local artists, Emma Spring, Zoe Coles and Noah Taylor worked on realising the ideas for the garden, which have come from children, young people and staff at the centre. The garden opened on 16 May 2008. The Big Lottery generously provided funding for the new garden.

The Ball Run
The ball run is a unique, interactive attraction in the sensory garden. Powered by hand, balls travel around the track through a collection of sculpted woodland animals.
